I love a wedding!

aka, My First "Job" as a Makeup Artist My baby brother (who's actually not a baby, at the age of 24) got married this weekend, and I had the lovely honor of being asked to do my sister-in-law's makeup for the wedding. Jen is the sort of person who pretty much never wears makeup ever. She doesn't feel the need to wear it, and she's perfectly gorgeous without it, in my opinion. But of course, it's nice to be a little extra special for an extra special occasion like your wedding day, and Jen asked me to do a purple eye look for her - something light and natural-looking, nothing dramatic that would render her unrecognizable. Herself-but-more-purple :) I was a little nervous but super excited and super flattered - I haven't done other people's makeup in a long time. My brother decided to take pictures of us while I was working. Eyes: - UDPP Original - UD Virgin on the inner half of the lid - NARS Jolie Poupee matte shade (left side of t...

Gold Deluxe

I didn't get a chance to photograph this up close, but I wanted to share it anyway. This is my nice summery look for a special occasion dinner: Eyes : - UDPP Greed - Sugarpill Chromalust in Goldilux applied wet to the lid. (I used foiling medium from My Beauty Addiction on Etsy.com.) - UD e/s in Creep (from the Naked palette) in the crease. Use a small crease brush for a thinner line. - UD e/s in Virgin to blend the line - UD e/s in Darkhorse applied to the outer third of the lid lightly, on top of Goldilux - UD eye pencil in Honey applied in a thick-ish line along the lower lash line - UD eye pencil in Bourbon applied to the lower waterline - UD eye pencil in Perversion applied to the upper lash line and outer half of lower water line and winged out at the corner - MAC Prep+Prime Lash, topped with NYX Dolleyes mascara (waterproof) Lips : - Nothing! Just a lip balm. I don't like wearing heavy lipwear when I know I'm going to be eating a lot of dinner. ...

Senior Ball 2011

I can't NOT post the details of my prom look, right? :) Bear in mind that I was chaperoning - I'm not a student myself. It was all hands on deck for this one: Eyes: - UDPP Original - MAC Shadestick in Lemon Chiffon all over the lid - UD shadow pencil in Wasteland in the crease (blended really well - no harsh lines) - I think I patted a little UD e/s in Midnight Cowgirl on top of the Lemon Chiffon - Stila Stay All Day Waterproof eyeliner pen in black along the upper lash line, flicked slightly at the ends - UD eye pencils in Uzi and Zero along the lower lash line - Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Mascara on the upper lashes (and I spent a lot of time separating my lashes with my Japonesque Precision Lash Definer eyelash comb) - Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara on the bottom lashes (of course!) Lips: - UD lip pencil in Gash - MAC lipstick in Dare You (I kind of love this lipstick equally for its name as for its color) Face: - MAC Prep+Prime Skin - MAC Studio Sculpt Foun...
