Marathon #2: Santa Rosa

One of the many gorgeous views along the SR course I knew I was quite undertrained (yeah, summer break made me lazybones), so I knew I wasn't going to beat my previous marathon time, and I was fully okay with that. I just wanted an official finish, and to enjoy the experience, and I definitely did both those things. My parents and Jolie came with me up to Santa Rosa. They've come with me for a race before, but this was the first time they actually came to the expo with me. This was fun for my dad especially because the expo was at DeLoach Winery, and my dad is into wine, so we got in a wine tasting as well. cheeeeeeeeese All the marathon runners (and some of the half marathon runners) got this awesome bottle of wine: As well as this jacket. (Women got pink trim, and men got blue. Ugh.) The marathon started at 6am, which was something the race organizers decided to do, like, a month ago (it originally was supposed to start at 7am), and I have to s...

Another year

Tomorrow is the first day of my 8th year as a teacher, and I can't believe how time has flown by - not just the fact that summer was over in the blink of an eye, but also the fact that I've been doing this for EIGHT YEARS. It's unbelievable. New for this year - my quote wall of books I'm obsessed with Where DID my summer go? What did I do with my time off? - I started and finished 13 knit/crochet projects. - I read 12 new books, and reread a few old ones. - I RETURNED TO ROLLER DERBY. - I kinda half-heartedly trained for my marathon (that is coming up this weekend. Yikes.) - I watched countless Youtube videos. - I rewatched Seasons 1-3 of Battlestar Galactica, and all the episodes of Sherlock except the last one. - I went to Disneyland. - I took Jolie on a handful of playdates. What are my goals for this next school year? - I need to up my game. We are transitioning to new content standards, and I need to be doing SO much more. - I want to get back on...

Comparison: Urban Decay Anarchy vs. NARS Schiap

Anarchy (left), Schiap (right) I can't be the only one who thought of comparing them, right? It looks to me that while both are bright pinks, Anarchy is more fuschia-y, a little bit deeper. Schiap is more neon-pink.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick - Shame and Anarchy

Shame is the dark berry color on the left. Anarchy, the bright pink on the right. At some point I will actually photograph them on my face :)
